A LITTLE BIT ABOUT ME …
Georgie Corp | Founder, Owner and Physiotherapist
I announced the commencement of my business PEC Physiotherapy in 2023. I am looking forward to continue developing connections with new clients, vets, consultants and other professionals over the years to come.
I have been fortunate enough that my journey so far as a physiotherapist has allowed me to experience a range of settings. I first worked as a hydrotherapy assistant before studying BSc Physiotherapy at the University of Winchester, where I graduated with first class honours. As a student, I was able to work with amputees, young people with learning disabilities in the community, acute stroke patients and long term intensive care patients with complex neurological conditions, as well as people in outpatients with a range of acute and chronic injuries. This vast experience as a student taught me many valuable life lessons and I have developed a plethora of communication and clinical skills as a result, as well as a level of compassion which I hold in high regard to this day.
Following my degree, I worked for the NHS as a rotational physiotherapist, with experience gained across respiratory, trauma and elective orthopaedics and outpatients rotations. I have since completed my MSc Veterinary Physiotherapy degree at Hartpury University with a distinction and I am qualified as an ACPAT Category A clinician. Being born into a “horsey” family and having spent my childhood around animals of all kind, I now thrive when treating horses and dogs from all different backgrounds, whether pet or sports athlete. I myself have competed in equestrian sport from a very young age, with experience in eventing, showjumping, dressage and polo. I currently enjoy competing in British Dressage with “Charlie”, pictured here, and I am a big advocate for ethics in horse sport. I have worked hard over the years to develop my understanding of the biomechanics behind each discipline and understand the different elements required to achieve success in each.
Alongside my business clients, I am employed part time as a specialist musculoskeletal physiotherapist at Bodymechanics UK in Surrey. This has introduced me to Diane Lee’s Integrated Systems Model (ISM), a holistic assessment tool which allows me to find a person’s “driver” and treat the root source of an issue to prevent future reoccurrence. This can be utilised for people with acute and chronic conditions, at all level of function.
